I have not had a chance yet to update about our past weekend ride so better late than never I guess. What an amazing day we all had. The border lineup was a bit longer than anticipated, but we all made it through without incident and met up with Paul and Ruthanne in Bellingham around 9:10 Am. From there it was a quick hop down the freeway to the Chuckanut road. This road is unbelievably beautiful with the tree branches growing across that create a beautiful canopy. Traffic was light but we did get behind a van near the end that kept us slower than we would have liked given all the twists and turns. It did however allow us to take in the sheer beauty of the area. From there we took the back roads to Highway 20 where we connected up and rode the highway through Deception Pass. After a short break at the bridge we were off to Oak Harbour for lunch. We came back on Highway 20 to Sedro Wolley and up highway 9 to the Sumas border. Traffic was extremely light on highway 9 so we were totally uninterrupted while enjoying some smooth sweeping turns home. The day ended with Paul and Ruthanne taking the group out for drinks at the local Starbucks in Abbotsford. Thank you Paul and Ruthanne!
All in all I feel the day was a total success with everyone truly enjoying themselves. (Didn’t hurt that the sun came out to warm us all up)
Our next full day ride is on June 21st to Mt Baker and it too will be an awesome ride so hopefully those who missed out on this past ride will be able to make it then. Thanks to everyone who showed up and remember……..”Keep the rubber on the road and the wind in your face”
