Greetings fellow riders,
Well what a weird weekend for weather! The decision was made to postpone the ride due to the fact that there was a snowfall warning issued Friday morning and depending on where you were seemed to determine if you saw snow or not. I know that some in the South Surrey area woke up to the white stuff and I heard there were also pockets of snow in the valley. In Langley the roads were dry but it was cold. It did not warm up past 2 degrees until about 1:00Pm. I ended up going for a short ride to Aldergrove with my daughter and a friend and it was sure brisk out. I know there were some who rearranged schedules to be a part of the planed ride this past weekend and it sure labored on me all day as to if I made the right decision or not. The long range forecast for this coming weekend is not looking too promising at this time but who knows…….we do live at the West Coast where the weather is so unpredictable. With this said, Saturday’s ride will go on RAIN OR SHINE. I know there are some diehards out there and it seems that if we keep postponing rides due to weather forecasts, we may never get out as a group. (Where in the world is spring? I hear so much about Global Warming, but right now I feel like we are in Global Cooling) Unless there is 3’ of snow on my driveway, I will be at the Tim Horton’s parking lot on Saturday ready to go at 10:00.
On another note, I am trying to connect with a member of the group to work on a web page. I tried to post an update to the riding schedule on the group page and all my settings went totally wonky and basically messed everything up. The group page is just not working so I feel that the best step will be to go outside and create our own site. There we will be able to post pictures of rides, up to date schedule information, blogs and more. I will keep you all posted on the progress, but hope to connect with Eric sometime soon and get the new site up and working for everyone’s enjoyment.
Thanks again to everyone for your patience as we work through some initial hiccups with the group and let’s hope the weather turns out better for the upcoming weekend ride.
